Dr. CHAE Wook is currently an honorary distinguished professor at the Graduate School of Pan-Pacific International Studies of Kyung Hee University. He was the President of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) during 2008-2013. He served as a member of the Presidential Council on National Competitiveness from 2008-2011 and also was a member of the National Economic Advisory Council as well as of the Presidential Committee for the G20 Summit during 2008-2010. In Academic area, he served as the President of Korea Association of Trade and Industry Studies (KATIS) in 2008. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) in the United States. He has written numerous articles and reports extensively in the areas of Korea’s regional and multilateral trade policies as well as its ODA policy. His major publications, among others, include books on 『Understanding the Korean Economy: Issues an Prospects (3rd, edition)』 (co-authored, 2020), 『Understanding of the Contemporary ROK-US Relations』 (co-authored, 2019) and 『International Commerce: Rules and Practices (7th edition)』 (co-authored, 2018).
