    김명섭(金明燮)은 연세대학교 정치외교학과에서 '전쟁과 평화', '한국정치외교사', 그리고 '지정학' 등을 가르치고 있다. 파리1 팡테옹-소르본 대학에서 박사학위를 받았다. 연세대학교 통일연구소장, 연세대학교 이승만연구원 원장, 한국정치외교사학회 회장, 그리고 Geopolitics(Routledge), '한국군사', '한국과 국제정치', '국가전략', '통일연구' 등 여러 학술지의 편집위원을 맡아 봉사했다. 주요 논저로 '해방전후사의 인식'(공저), '대서양문명사', Northeast Asia and the Two Koreas(공저), 그리고 '전쟁화 평화: 6.25전쟁과 정전체제의 탄생' 등이 있다.

    Myongsob KIM teaches War and Peace, History of Korean Politics and Diplomacy, and Geopolitics in the Dept. of Political Science and Diplomacy at Yonsei University. Ph. D. at the Université de Paris I-Panthéon Sorbonne. His articles published in many journals such as Journal of Korean Political and Diplomatic History, International Political Science Review (IPSA), Issues & Studies, Korea Journal, Korean Journal of Defense Analysis, Korea Observer, Pacific Focus, Korean Journal of International Relations, and Korean Political Science Review. He has served as: President of Korean Association for Political and Diplomatic History, Director of the Institute for Korean Unification Studies at Yonsei University, Director of the Syngman Rhee Institute at Yonsei University, Editorial board member of several journals such as Geopolitics(Routledge), Korean Journal of Military Affairs, Korea and World Politics, etc. He has translated several books into Korean, among them Zbigniew Brzezinski’s trilogy including The Grand Chessboard. He authored or co-authored several books including Re-cognition of Korean Contemporary History after the Liberation [in Korean, 1989], History of Atlantic Civilization: Expansion, Exploration, and Hegemony [in Korean, 2001], War and Peace in East Asia[in Korean, 2006], Northeast Asia and the Two Koreas: Metastability, Security, and Community (2008), and War and Peace: The 6.25 War and the Birth of Armistice Regime[in Korean, 2015].
