서울국제포럼 The Seoul Forum for International Affairs(SFIA)

현 서강대 국제대학원 교수이자 동 대학 세계무역연구소 소장으로 있다. (대통령 직속) 국민경제자문위원, (국무총리실) 경제인문사회연구회 이사, (금융위) 금융발전심의위원, (기재부) 국제금융발전심의위원, 한국경제학회 이사, 한국국제통상학회 회장, 서강대 국제대학원 원장, 서강대 국제지역연구소 소장 등을 역임하였다. 서울대 경제학과를 졸업하고 미국 조지워싱턴대에서 경제학 박사학위를 취득하였다. 미국 조지타운대 풀브라이트 연구교수와 베트남 국립 타이윈 재경대학 석좌교수를 지냈다. 연구분야는 국제경제, 세부전공은 통상정책과 경제안보 및 FTA 전략

Dr. Heo is Professor of Int’l Trade at Graduate School of International Studies (GSIS), Sogang University, Korea. Prefessor Heo was Dean of Sogang GSIS and Director of Sogang Institute of Int’l and Area Studies, and currently serves as Director of Sogang World Trade Institute. He has been a policy consultant for Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Economy and Finance, and Financial Services Commission of Korea on international issues including trade negotiations and foreign policies. In 2018, he worked as President of Korean Association of Trade and Industry Studies. He also served as a board member of Korean Economic Association (2019-20) and National Research Council under the office of Prime Minister (2016-19). From 2014 to 2016, he was a member of National Economic Advisory Council for the President of Korea. For spring semester in 2014, he stayed in Washington D.C. as a Fulbright Senior Scholar to the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. In 2010, He taught at Thainguyen University of Vietnam as a Distinguished Professor of Int'l Trade. Professor Heo is an economist trained at The George Washington University (Ph.D. in Economics), University of Utah (M.S. in Economics), and Seoul National University (B.A. in Economics).
