H.S. Cho is the Executive President of Hyosung Group. He also serves as the President of Hyosung Industrial Materials Performance Group, and the Chief Management Officer of Hyosung Chemical Corporation. Hyosung Group is a global enterprise with over 25,000 employees working at 100 business sites. With annual revenue of over USD 15 billion, Hyosung oversees various businesses including advanced industrial materials, textile, chemicals, heavy industry, IT, trading, finance, and automotive retail.
Mr. Cho holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brown University and Yonsei University. He worked at Bain & Company, Seoul and Tokyo as a consultant, and NTT Communications, a global ICT company, Tokyo (HQ) as a sales manager. He joined Hyosung Group in 1998 for a year as a Corporate Consultant for the Group’s restructuring project, and rejoined the Group in 2000.
Mr. Cho was named as the recipient of “Young Global Leaders (YGL)” of WEF (World Economic Forum) in 2007 in recognition of his achievements in leading Hyosung’s growth and “Asia 21 Global Young Leader” by Asia Society of USA in 2006. He has contributed to the development of Korean culture and arts by serving as a founding member of the Young Friends of Museums (YFM), a support organization for the National Museum of Korea, and as a member of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art since 2007.
Mr.Cho played speed skating and baseball, and has interest and passion in various fields such as history, travel, photography, and gastronomy. He is especially interested in supporting the socially disadvantaged as the head of the Hyosung Volunteers, an outreach organization of Hyosung.
