장윤금 총장은 1984년에 숙명여자대학교에서 문학사를 받고 1991년에 미국 인디애나 대학에서 문헌 정보학 석사, 2003년에 미국 위스콘신 대학에서 문헌정보학 박사를 받았다. 교수, 직원, 학생, 동문 모두가 참여하여 첫 직선제로 뽑은 제20대 숙명여자대학교 총장이다. 현재 한국여자대학총장협의회 회장, 한국사립대학총장협의회 수석부회장, 한국대학교육협의회 이사 및 헌법재판소 자문위원으로 활동 중이며, 서울총장포럼 회장을 역임한 바 있다. 한국-카자흐스탄 문화, 예술, 교육 소사이어티 초대 회장에 취임, 카자흐스탄 국립예술대학으로부터 명예박사 학위를 수여 받았으며 2021년 한국언론인연합회에서 제 20회 자랑스런한국인대상(교육혁신 부문)을 수상했다.

Dr. Yunkeum Chang received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sookmyung Women's University in 1984, a Master's in Library and Information Science from Indiana University-Bloomington, USA in 1991, and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA in 2003. Dr. Chang is the 20th president of Sookmyung Women's University and the first to be directly elected by all members of the university including professors, members of staff, students, and alumni. She is the President of the Korea Association of Women's University, Senior Vice-president of the Korean Association of Private University Presidents, Director of the Korean Council for University Education, and a member of the Advisory Committee of the Constitutional Court of Korea. She has also served as the President of the Seoul Forum of University Presidents. Dr. Chang was inaugurated as the first President of the Korea-Kazakh Arts, Culture & Education Society, and was awarded an honorary doctorate in education by the Kazakhstan National University of Arts. She was also honored as the 2021 Proud Korean (Educational Innovation) by the Journalists Federation of Korea.
