1948년생. 미국 오하이오대. 연세대에서 수학. 한국데이타베이스진흥센터 이사장. 국제언론협회(IPI) 부회장. 동인문학상 운영위원장, 한국신문협회 회장, 아시아신문재단(PFA) 한국위원회 이사. 세계신문협회(WAN) 한국대표 역임.
현재 조선일보사 대표이사 사장, 국제언론인협회(IPI) 종신회원.

Born in 1948. Educated at Ohio University and Yonsei University. Joined Chosun IIbo in 1970 as a staff writer in the Foreign News Department. Became the publisher and president in 1993. Between 1992 and 2000, served as Chairman of the Korea Data Base Association, Vice Chairman of the International Press Institute(IPI), Chairman of the Korean Newspapers Association, and Board Member of the Press Foundation of Asia. At present, holds the position of President of Chosun IIbo and is a lifetime member of IPI.
