Nam-jung Kim is the chairman of Dongwon Group, promoted in March 2024. He has led more than ten M&As and technology investments over the past 10 years as a vice chairman of Dongwon Group before he was promoted to chairman. In 2024, he was awarded the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit for his contribution to the smart port industry by successfully establishing Korea’s first fully automated port, the Dongwon Global Terminal Busan (DGT). With this achievement, he led Dongwon Group to be positioned as a leader in port automation using advanced technology, significantly enhancing logistics efficiency. Additionally, he has built up management capabilities through affiliates such as Dongwon F&B marketing strategy team leader, Dongwon Industrial Management Support Office, Dongwon Systems Management Support Office, U.S. Chief Operating Officer of Starkist, and Dongwon Enterprise.
He completed a M.B.A. from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 2003 and received a B.A. from the Department of Sociology at Korea University in 1996.
